BIO
Sarah Gramotke is a curator and researcher, based in Hamburg and Frankfurt.
Her written and curatorial work is driven by an interest in the politics of images and the social dimensions of the photographic medium. Focusing on artistic engagements with archives that challenge the normative, colonial, and racist legacies of photography, her work foregrounds conceptual and experimental approaches that open up new ways of seeing and rethinking the photographic image.
She is currently a curatorial fellow at the House of Photography at Deichtorhallen Hamburg, where she has assisted on the realization of four exhibitions and curated the exhibition Double Feature: gute aussichten 2023/24/25.
Prior to this, she was involved in an exhibition project at Museum Ludwig in Cologne and worked on the digitization initiative DigiRom at Rom e.V., Cologne.
