The lecture »Joachim Schmids Archiv. Gefundene Sichtbarkeiten« (»Joachim Schmid’s Archiv. Found Visibilities«) as part of the symposium examining photography as a set of practices. Photographic images permeate everyday life, shaping how we see, use, and interpret the world—both consciously and unconsciously. As images circulate across contexts, their meanings and values continuously shift.
The symposium approached photography through key verbs, such as analyzing, archiving, historicizing, constructing, shooting, and negotiating guilt, explore its multiple dimensions. Six interactive short lectures introduced current research projects and opened them up for discussion. The program also included a conversation with artist Viktoria Binschtok and art historian Prof. Dr. Burcu Dogramaci (LMU Munich).
The symposium is conceptualized and organized by Dortje Fink, Tabea Funke, Sarah Gramotke, Deborah Herber, Malte Radtki and Meike Reiners.
